Forest School has been in the UK for quite some time now, but it is continually changing and developing. 

We've compiled a brief history of Forest school in the UK and Scotland to help new and prospective Forest School Leaders understand the historical and recent developments within Forest school and wider outdoor learning.

This covers the UK - but lets look more in-depth about the changes and developments here in Scotland.

Lots has changed with the development of the Forest and Outdoor Learning Award by Newbattle Abbey College, in partnership with Forest School Association, Forestry, and Land Scotland, as well as others who are prominent within the Outdoor Learning Sector in Scotland.
